Macro made with the Helios 44M 58mm, a Russian lens from the 60s. I separate it from the camera with an “extension tube”, which considerably reduces the minimum focusing distance, thus allowing extreme magnifications. The depth of field is so small that when the head of an insect is in focus, the back legs are already blurred. Insects usually take 15 minutes to get that close, revealing a world we would never suspect existed…
